Whether it’s a car accident, surgery or another sort of injury, many of life’s unfortunate events leave their marks as scars. While nearly everybody has one or more scars to remind them of such situations, some scars may be more critical than others. In addition to possible physical pain and discomfort, individuals may experience psychological impairment and reduced self-confidence, especially when scars are located on visible parts of the body.

Hansaplast Scar Reducer

Hansaplast Scar Reducer is a transparent, self-adhesive patch made of polyurethane. Products made of this material have been used for years in professional wound care. The patches contain no active ingredients (pharmaceuticals) that may cause side effects. They are a safe and efficient way to effectively reduce raised and coloured hypertrophic scars or keloid scars.

How does Scar Reducer work?

The transparent polyurethane patch is designed to build a semi-occlusive barrier which improves hydration of the scar tissue. It also increases temperature in the scar tissue. This helps to activate the skin’s own regeneration process and supports the remodelling of the scar. The scars become flatter, lighter and softer.

Clinical Studies

Clinical studies have shown positive results after 8 weeks of consecutive use of at least 12h a day. First results are noticeable after 3 to 4 weeks. Using the patch for longer than 8 weeks may further improve the appearance of the scar.
